On November 17th, International Students' Day, events will take place at universities across the world to demonstrate solidarity with Iranian students, academics and scholars. We will honor their bravery and struggles for basic human and civil rights. For more than seventy years, Iranian students and academics have been one of the leading defenders of basic freedoms and rights. For this, they have paid dearly, with imprisonment, torture, rape and their lives. Following the June 12th elections and the brutal crackdown on peaceful protestors during last summer, students and scholars, along with others including the members of women’s movement, once again led the struggle. Global solidarity continues to pressure the government of Iran and other governments in their relations with the government of Iran, in order to hold accountable those who have jailed, raped, tortured, and murdered the Iranians demanding their civil and human rights. And although the mainstream media has failed to cover the ongoing struggle, it continues to exist in Iran. Since the universities have opened in late September, Iranian students have again assumed a brave and active voice. Chants in dormitories and outcries in lecture halls, and on campuses throughout the country, occur regularly. One brave honor student voiced his grave concerns about the Supreme Leader while being broadcast nationally. These brave women and men are risking their lives and future. Leave a message, and let’s support these courageous students and academics in every way we can. |

Everybody in Europe admires your bravery, your resilience and your moral strength. Some people support you openly, taking part to demonstrations or spreading information on the Web, but many people, probably the vast majority of Europeans, is on your side and abhors the Iranian regime.

Dorood bar Shoma, hamvatan-e azizan!
You are the true lions of the country; the heroes who are fighting for the very freedom that we could not win for you from outside Iran. You have suffered thirty years of tyranny, oppression and mind control. The pressure has finally become too much, and the thirty years of evil have finally taken its toll upon you. Remember, in your struggle for freedom, you have the hearts of the millions of Iranians who live outside of Iran. You have the courage that none of us here have - you are the front line fighters, whilst we sit in our comfortable homes, hoping for the freedom of Iran whilst we ourselves do nothing. Forgive us weak Iranians, forgive us who left Iran to escape the evils of the regime. My wish is that I was born in Iran and lived there, that way I would have joined you.
We Iranians outside Iran are not the champions, we are nobody - You are the heroes, you are the lions, you are the champions. You have our love, support, hopes, hearts and prayers. You are not fighting alone, without us. We are making as much noise here as we possible can in order to support you.
Be blessed, I hope to have the honour of meeting with you one day.
